- I liked the design choices implemented in this blog, as it's easy to navigate. 

For Component 3: Advanced portfolio, I came in planning to do the music promotion package with a classmate. Unfortunately, my classmate had to drop to subject. However, there is another student in my class that I paired up with. He came in wanting to do a documentary, but once finding out that there was also a short film option, we have decided to either do a documentary or a short film. I watched some short films for inspiration.

I was particularly inspired by this, as the cinematography and the lighting is what I am desiring to achieve regardless of what I end up doing. 

I also had a concept of a music video with properties of a short film. For example, the first minute or two of a song plays, and then the sound seamlessly blends into the background or cuts out depending on the song, and there is a short segment where a story happens. The story lines up or roughly matches up with the lyrics of the song, and then the music starts playing again as the end draws near. It offers more creative liberties that can be taken and also follows a storyline, which is something I would like to do if I did a music video. Additionally, it gives us options, because post-production, if we don't like how it has turned out, we can edit it again into a short film. Because of my partner's affinity towards documentaries, an idea I had was that we could film a mockumentary music video, where it starts with interviews of people and cuts out into a song. (Inspiration: Ariana Grande's 'thank u next' music video).

As most music videos follow a storyline, these could serve as a compromise to elevate the project. Additionally, we could add elements of music video into a short film, with a song playing over it.
